Dietary Ingredient Derived from Animals in Texas Feed Yards to Help Promote Health 

Amarillo, Texas, May 28, 2010 — Amarillo Biosciences, Inc. (ABI) (OTCBB: AMAR) today announced that Maxisal, its dietary supplement to enhance salivary function, promote oral comfort and help relive dry mouth, has been launched in Germany (www.Maxisal.de).  Maxisal is marketed in Germany by ABI’s licensee Egofocus OHG based in Darmstadt. The first target market in Germany is cancer patients. There are over 400 medications, including some oncology drugs, that cause dry mouth as a severe side effect. By taking Maxisal, cancer patients may be able to relieve at least one of the side effects of cancer therapy. Maxisal was first offered for sale after clinical studies in subjects with Sjogren’s syndrome (characterized by dry eyes and dry mouth) reported that the ingredient in Maxisal significantly improved mouth comfort and decreased mouth and throat dryness.

Viral Serology Confirms that Oral Interferon Reduces Incidence of Cold and Flu Symptoms in Australian Phase 2 Clinical Trial PDF Print E-mail

Amarillo, Texas, May 17, 2010 — Amarillo Biosciences, Inc. (ABI) (OTCBB: AMAR) today announced additional positive results from a Phase 2 clinical trial conducted at the University of Western Australia. A total of 200 healthy volunteers were enrolled in this study to take a once daily dose of oral interferon or placebo for 16 weeks as prevention of influenza-like illness during the 2009 Australian cold and flu season.  Blood samples collected from the volunteers at the beginning and end of treatment were tested for evidence of infection with seven common respiratory viruses, including influenza virus A and B; parainfluenza virus 1, 2 and 3; adenovirus; and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Report on Australian Oral Interferon Influenza Study is Submitted and Available Online PDF Print E-mail

Amarillo, Texas, April 9, 2010 — Amarillo Biosciences, Inc. (ABI) (OTCBB: AMAR) today announced that Dr. Manfred Beilharz, Chair of Microbiology and Immunology, School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences, The University of Western Australia has submitted a final report on the recently completed 200 subject low-dose oral interferon (IFN) Phase 2 clinical trial in Perth, Australia. Dr. Beilharz was one of two principal investigators of the study for which ABI provided the oral interferon.  The report, sent to the State Health Research Advisory Council of the Department of Health, Western Australia (DOH WA) evaluated the drug’s safety and efficacy in combating colds and influenza.  The report is available on ABI’s website (http://www.amarbio.com/Download-document/20-Australian-Influenza-Study-Report.html).

Amarillo, Texas, March 23, 2010 — Amarillo Biosciences, Inc. (ABI) (OTCBB: AMAR) today announced that Dr. Manfred Beilharz, Chair of Microbiology and Immunology, School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences, The University of Western Australia will make a presentation entitled, Low Dose Oral Type 1 IFN: A New Defense Against Colds and Flu, at the 3rd World Summit of Antiviral Summit Shelf in Busan, South Korea on July 31-August 3, 2010.  Dr. Beilharz was one of the principal investigators of the study that tested ABI’s oral interferon lozenges during the 2009 influenza season in Australia.

Intas Pharmaceutical to Launch Phase 3 Clinical Trial in India to Test Amarillo Biosciences’ Oral Interferon against Influenza

Amarillo, Texas, March 4, 2010 — Amarillo Biosciences, Inc. (ABI) (OTCBB: AMAR) today announced that it has executed a license and supply agreement with Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited (Intas), one of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in India. Intas plans to launch a double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 clinical trial of ABI’s orally administered interferon-alpha lozenges in India by the end of March. The study will include up to 520 patients with clinical signs and symptoms of influenza. Intas will pay ABI a royalty on net sales in India and Nepal after marketing approval is obtained.
